Mario Fuchs, born in Bern in 1985, studied acting at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 onward he was engaged at Schauspiel Frankfurt, where he worked with Christopher Rüping, Alexander Eisenach, Laura Linnenbaum and Schorsch Kamerun, among others. From 2015 onward he was a member of the ensemble at Theater Basel (Theatre of the Year 2018). There he worked with Thom Luz, Julia Hölscher, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Claudia Bauer, Philipp Stölzl and Anita Vulesica, among others.
In 2017, he received an award from the Armin Ziegler Foundation for his portrayal of Mesa in Mittagswende (directed by Julia Hölscher). The magazine «Theater heute» nominated him as Young Actor of the Year in 2017 and 2018. In 2019 he was invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen with Tartuffe oder Das Schwein der Weisen (directed by Claudia Bauer) and in 2021 with Graf Öderland (directed by Stefan Bachmann).
Mario Fuchs has worked as a freelancer since August 2020. He is a guest at the Volkstheater Wien, Schauspielhaus Graz, the Opéra de Massy in Paris and the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, among others. He also regularly works for film and television productions and as a voice actor.
